(a) Longevity

They object to the Mahdi being a contemporary of so many successive generations during the past ten centuries and continuing to live until he reappears on the scene. How is it possible for him, they ask, to live such a long life without being affected by the natural laws, according to which everyone has to pass through the stages of old age and senility and eventually has to die at a time far earlier than the supposed present age of the Mahdi. Such a long life is impossible from a factual point of view.

(b) Suspension of laws

They also inquire as to why Allah is so keen to suspend natural laws for the sake of this particular person and to prolong his life so extraordinarily. Is humanity unable to produce any other competent leader? Why is it not possible that the role of filling the world with justice and equity be left to a leader who may be born on the eve of the appointed day and grow like other people?

AWAITING IN THE PERSPECTIVE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Awaiting' (Intezar) is the result of two condi­tions. Firstly, he is not satisfied with the present circumstances and secondly, he expects the improve­ment in his circumstances. If either of these condi­tions are not fulfilled then it is not awaiting and the person concerned is not an 'awaiter' *(Muntazir).

The awaiting of Hazrat Imam Mahdi (A.S.) also holds the same distinct characteristics. Even here awaiting purports that an awaiter is not satisfied with his present circumstances and is hoping for a bright and better future.

After the year 329 A.H, when the major occultation commenced, the special deputation of Imam e Zamana (a.s.) terminated. If anybody claims during the major occultation to be a mediator and a deputy, then, according to the declaration of Imam e Zamana (a.s.) himself, that claimer is a liar In the Holy Imams' traditions, the purpose of the Imam's going into occultation is compared to the sun being behind the clouds yet being a source of vitality and life for living creatures Likewise, while the Imam is behind the curtain of occultation, he is still a source of the existence and remaining of the world

A common factor between Shia Muslims and Christians is that they refer to the Expected One in their respective eschatological systems as ‘the Saviour’, Shia referring to the Mahdi, and Christians to Jesus.

The West, especially Europe, is essentially post-Christian, with religion playing little role in everyday affairs. However, at times of crisis, people turn to religion for solace. A classic example was the effect of 9/11, which led to a massive upsurge in American church attendance. Similarly, in the wake of the events of 1967, with the defeat of the Arab states, Muslims began to abandon secular ideologies and turn to religion as a source of solace and of political resistance. The fruit of that turning was seen in 1979 with the Islamic Revolution in Iran. Following on from that, the people of Lebanon and Palestine have turned to religion for solace in the face of the Israeli occupation.

There existed a good deal of harmony and uniformity between the ascepts pertaining to the birth of last prophet and last imam. Just as the coming of holy Prophet was prophesied well in advance by the preceding prophets similarly the impending news of the gracious birth of imam Mehdi was foretold by the Holy Prophet.

The promised Mehdi who is usally known as Imam -e-zamana is the son of eleventh imam, his name is same as the last prophet's name .He was born in sammra in 255 A.H and untill 260 when his father was martyred lived under his father care and tutelage .He was hidden from the public view and only a few of the elite shia were able to meet him . after the death of his father he became imam and by devine command went to occulation,thereafter he appears only to his dupties and even on exceptional circumstances . and this minor occulation continue for about 70 years than short before the death of his last dupty ALI IBN MUHAMMED AS SAMURI IN 329 AN ORDER WAS ISSUED that with the death of my dupty major occulation will begin and it will continue til Alllah grants permission to imam to manifest himself.

On the Threshold of the birth of Hazrat Mahdi

In this article, lady Hakimeh, Imam Hadi’s illustrious sister, will be invited during the night of the birth of the last Imam. We shall see the very respectful, kind behavior of lady Hakimeh toward Narguess. In this chapter, the birth of the baby boy and the night prayers of Imam Hassan, along with lady Hakimeh and Narguess herself are narrated.

The night of 14th Sha’ban

Days and nights passed and Narguess was the center of attention in the house of Imamat.  No one was aware yet of the important role of Narguess as the future mother of the Last Savior of the World. The only persons who knew about this, were Imam Hadi, Imam Hassan [pbuh] her husband and the father of the future baby, and his aunt lady Hakimeh.

After the sad days of the Martyrdom of the tenth Imam of the Shiites: Imam Hadi [pbuh], Imam Hassan received the important role of Imamat by the Will of God Almighty while he was only twenty two years old… His wife Narguess was already pregnant. By the Will of God Almighty, all the signs of her pregnancy were hidden from everyone, even from lady Hakimeh. She did not know of that, and after ninth months had passed, there were still no sign of a baby in Nar guess’s womb. Finally on Thursday, Sha’ban 14th of the year 255 after Hijrah, Imam Hassan invited his aunt to his house.  In a letter, the Imam wrote:” My beloved aunt! I would like to invite you to come over here for breaking the fast with us. But also because this very night, our God Almighty will finally grant our wishes! In that special night, the beloved baby that all of us have been waiting for His Birth for a long time, will come into this world! God Almighty will thus complete His Blessings to all human beings with the birth of my son!  My aunt! Tonight, the Possessor of Time [Imam Zaman ] will come to earth, and one day He will offer eternal life and perfect justice to the whole world after the dead of the earth.”

Lady Hakimeh went quickly and happily to Imam Hassan’s house and asked him excitedly:”My lord, are you sure that tonight is that special night you were longing for its arrival…? ”

While Imam was smiling, he answered her said:”Of course t I am sure, my aunt! ”

Lady Hakimeh was aware of the details of the life of Narguess and also about the glad tidings of her life, but she asked Imam Hassan once more:”My lord, may my life be offered for you! But… who is the mother of this great child? ”

Imam replied:” Of course Narguess is the mother of my son! ”
